Who. GitHub is the home for all developers and Universe is an opportunity for our community to explore the future of software development together. We produce Universe for enterprises, startups, open source communities, security officers, partners and any developer interested in discovering how GitHub can help them accelerate their development experience.

What. Universe will deliver two days of engaging sessions, discussions and interactive experiences for in person attendees. We'll be streaming keynotes and a curated selection of live sessions on githubuniverse.com. All registered attendees will have access to recorded sessions once the event concludes.

Where & When. Universe will take place on October 29 - 30, 2024 at Fort Mason Center for Arts & Culture in San Francisco, CA. Broadcast times and schedule will be announced in September.

There are three ways to participate in Universe 2024:

Virtual Pass (FREE): includes access to all livestreamed and on-demand sessions.

General Admission ($1299): includes access to all areas EXCEPT keynote theater. Keynotes will be viewable at broadcast areas throughout the venue. DOES NOT include workshops or certifications, those may be purchased separately.

General Admission + Keynote ($1499): includes everything Universe has to offer including keynote theater access during the Day 1 and Day 2 keynotes. DOES NOT include workshops or certification testing, those may be purchased separately. Limited capacity.

All tickets are inclusive of food and beverage.

Ticket add-on opportunities:

• Workshop Tickets ($149): Each workshop must be purchased individually as an add-on to your Universe pass.
• Certification Testing ($49): Must be purchased in addition to your Universe Pass. Certification testing requires a 2-hour time commitment and will be hosted on October 28th ONLY at the InterContinental in San Francisco.

Sign-up to be informed when Virtual registration opens closer to the event. If you are attending virtually, you'll still need to register for the event to gain accesss to all live and recorded sessions.

We have two tiers of discounted pricing you can take advantage of:

• Over 30% off tickets during Super Early Bird pricing from April 16 - July 1
• 20% off tickets during Early Bird pricing from July 2 - September 3.

Standard ticket pricing begins September 4th. Act early to get the best price!

We are dedicated to ensuring that this year’s Universe is accessible to all participants. Similar to last year’s event, all main stage presentations will have American Sign Language (ASL) interpretation and real-time captioning, additionally, we will continue to have designated meditation/prayer and nursing parent spaces.

This year's venue (Fort Mason Center) will involve movement between multiple buildings. We encourage individuals who require mobility assistance to contact us as early as possible at universeaccessibility@github.com. If you have other accessibility requirements please feel free to inform us during registration or at the email address above. Your comfort and accessibility are our highest priority!

Dietary requests will be collected during registration. All allergen information will be labeled on conference food options and we will post our daily menu details (including a list of all ingredients) on githubuniverse.com prior to the event. Absolutely! We are currently hosting a room block at the InterContinental San Francisco, Hyatt Centric, Argonaut, and Alton. Please check your confirmation email for details and booking links. Complementary conference shuttles to Fort Mason will be provided.

San Francisco International Airport (SFO) is the closest major airport, an easy BART ride, or a 25-minute drive from downtown. Alternatively, the Oakland International Airport (OAK) is a 35-minute drive over the Bay Bridge and is also accessible by BART. Lastly, the San Jose International Airport (SJC) is a one-hour drive from the South Bay, accessible by Caltrain.

By registering for this event, you agreed to both our photography/videography release (detailed beow) as well as the GitHub Events Code of Conduct.

GitHub or its partners sometimes take photos and videos at GitHub events. By participating or attending the Event, you agree that you may appear in some of these photos and videos, and you authorize GitHub's use of them. On the flip side, if you take any photos or videos of attendees at the Event and provide them to us, you authorize us to use them in the same fashion, and represent that the attendees that appear in your photos and videos have also consented to such use.

We are following the San Francisco Department of Public Health's guidelines when it comes to public health protocols. Per current guidelines, vaccination and masks will not be required at GitHub Universe 2024. Should public health guidelines change, we reserve the right to implement testing and masks before the event. If so, attendees will receive notification in advance of the event. As always, please stay home if you are experiencing any neagtive symptoms — we all need to do our part to keep one another healthy.

Here are our tips for staying safe and secure during your Universe trip:

1. If you drive to the event, do not leave any valuables in your car. Please note, we do not have bag check at the event. We recommend you leave large bulky items at your home, office or hotel room.
2. Remove your conference badge when you are off campus (but don't lose it!). Badges make you more easily identifiable as a potential tourist/out of towner and more likely target.
3. Determine the route to your next destination before you leave your hotel or the event campus.

Cancellation: Full refunds will be provided if you cancel your ticket two weeks ahead of the event (by Tuesday, October 15). Cancellations after that point will not receive a refund.
